"I've taken both private and group classes with Serena and she is an excellent teacher. She strikes a perfect balance between instruction and exploration. She adapts to the level of instruction that students need and makes it all super fun! She is a wealth of knowledge and is so generous with her time and advice. My family loved our private session with her and can't wait to do another.
Her studio is bright and cheerful and has absolutely everything you could possibly need - including a super welcoming vibe! (Not to mention the best Chinese bakery next door!)
In addition to be an amazing teacher, Serena is an incredibly talented artist and her gift shop is somewhere I love to spend time admiring her work."- Thai MacDonald

"While there are MANY options out there for intro pottery classes, I felt incredibly lucky to have landed in Serena's beginner wheel throwing class at West Point Grey community Centre. I read her studio page before my first class, advertising fun + laughs during her sessions and this was exactly what it turned out to be. I can't even believe I made some of the pieces I ended up with after the 12 week course, she is an EXCELLENT teacher; so approachable, friendly, inviting and encourages a supportive + happy learning space. I've already recommended her to anyone interested in doing a pottery class, GO WITH CHU CHU!!! And enjoy many laughs + amazing pottery pieces :)"

"I took a hand building minimalist tableware pottery class and I absolutely loved it! Serena is a fantastic instructor! Her directions are clear and she has a great energy and enthusiasm that makes classes really fun. Also the classes are small so it’s great for getting individual help and guidance. This was my first time ever working with pottery. In just two sessions I learned a ton and I’m really pleased with how my pieces turned out. I will definitely be taking another class with Serena!"

"Attending Serena's paint pouring class was an absolute blast! She has a way of making the process feel approachable, fun, and totally stress-free. Her instructions were clear, but she kept the vibe light and engaging, so even beginners felt confident. You can tell she truly loves what she does, it’s contagious! Beyond just creating art, the class felt like a great way to connect with others and tap into creativity in a relaxed setting. If you're looking for a unique, hands-on experience that’s both fun and inspiring, this class is a must. Highly recommend!"

"Serena helped me organize a few private classes for my work team (string painting, resin painting) and it has been a fantastic experience for all of us to be creative and bond. She is a patient, thorough and very obviously experienced instructor - we can't get enough of her studio and will be back soon!"

"Attending Serena Chu's paint pouring class was an incredible experience! Not only did Serena skillfully guide us through creating beautiful art pieces, but she also fostered an environment that allowed genuine connections to form. Her passion for art is infectious, and she has a unique ability to bring out the creativity in everyone. The class was not only about creating art but also about bonding with fellow participants. I never expected to leave with both a masterpiece and new friendships. Highly recommend to anyone looking to explore their artistic side while enjoying a sense of community. Serena's class is a must-experience! "
