Raku Pottery Drop-In

For those that have had previous raku experience with Chu Chu this drop-in pack includes:

  • 9 hours of raku drop-in class time (options to purchase more if needed)
  • 12.5lbs of clay
  • shelf space for work in progress and clay
  • credit for one raku firing with glazes
  • light lunch and snacks on firing day

Options to handbuild or wheel throw, all raku clay waste must be separated and disposed of and not mixed in with regular studio clay.

All bisqued raku pots must be taken home by students and not stored at the studio.

Each person will be able to make multiple pieces.  Please note that raku pottery does not hold water and is not food safe, decorative purposes only. 
It is your responsibility to finish your work and allow enough time for drying/bisque firing.  Recommended that you finish mid-August if you want to take advantage of a potential fall firing cancellation or beginning of Jan for the Feb 1 firing.

Raku Firing
Gleneagles Community Centre, West Van
We have one raku kiln firing reserved for Sunday Feb 1, 2026.  If there is a cancellation in the fall 2025, you will be notified as we will try and take the spot.  You may use your credit for any kiln firing available.

*A light lunch and snacks are included, please bring plenty of water or electrolyte drinks.  There will be limited availability to carpool from Chu Chu Chinatown with Serena.

NO CANCELLATIONS ACCEPTED
As there is only a small limited amount of space in this course and because the raku firing has been pre-paid for, there is no re-booking or refunds available for this course for any reason including illness.  You are always welcome to give your spot to another person should you not be able to attend.
